The aim of the seminar is to  highlight the opportunities arising from the worldwide economic crisis, from the  lawyers’ perspective. It is suggested that  a pro-active attitude may be useful in order to tackle the difficulties of the adverse scenario and to turn these apparently negative circumstances into opportunities . New ideas and creative solutions may be used as tools to take advantage of, when everyone is acting pessimistically. Moreover, jurists can propose new, agile alternatives to overcome companies’ daily issues, in order to assist their clients to successfully face the crisis.

The structure of the seminar will be essentially interactive, aiming at an exchange of experiences between the participants and the speakers. In this sense, while the speaker will illustrate his views on the opportunities arising from the crisis, the moderator will seek to instigate questions about the profitability, feasibility and viability of such ideas. Corporate recoveries, mergers and acquisitions in troubled scenarios, a more flexible Labor law to deal with the rising unemployment levels, tax reform to encourage consumption, readjustment of the economic law, investments in infra-structures to revitalize the economy and the management of law firms are topics that not only will be discussed in this seminar, but are also present in lawyers’ daily routine. At the end, the participants will be invited to take part in the panels, to offer their reflections on the topics that have been discussed.
