Immigration compliance, once of interest only to specialists and human resource managers, in a globalising world must be considered by business and employment lawyers, corporate counsel and other lawyers advising small and large companies and NGOs who seek to move employees across borders while complying with various national laws.

Although immigration has risen to the top of the global policy agenda, it is governed by national law.  As jurisdictions hasten to enact and amend national laws and policies to satisfy domestic security and political concerns, compliance becomes increasingly difficult and the consequences of non-compliance more serious for employers and employees. This seminar will provide practical advice for issues to be considered by lawyers advising clients doing business across borders.  It will also consider human rights and privacy concerns raised by tightening security in some jurisdictions.

Those attending the UIA seminar, also have the opportunity to book places at the Immigration Law Practitioners' Association (ILPA) seminar Current Challenges for UK Immigration Lawyers  (Thursday, July 18, 2008 13:00-16:15 central London) at the ILPA members' special rate. This is an opportunity to get in-depth information on UK immigration law from leading UK practitioners. See separate flyer.
Book directly with ILPA.
