This seminar intends to analyze the many possibilities and opening perspectives for lawyers to practice in and before international organizations. Important and distinguished speakers share their expertise and experience in and with international organizations, offering a unique and practical view of the relationship between lawyers and international organizations.
The seminar is organized by the International Association of Lawyers (UIA) and the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA), in collaboration with the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), the National Institute of Criminal Sciences (INACIPE), the most prestigious Mexican professional associations such as the Mexican Bar Association (BMA) the Mexican Lawyers Association (Ilustre y Nacional Colegio de Abogados de México), and the National Association of Business Lawyers (ANADE). The prestigious Panamerican University and Libre Derecho Law School will also sponsor the seminar, and will contribute with the seminar.
The seminar is hosted in the new premises of the Chancellery of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and participants are accommodated at the nearby Hotel Sheraton Centro Histórico. The format of the seminar is of Roundtables where speakers with experience in renowned international organizations and a coordinator will discuss the goals end of the respective organization, the role of lawyers and their respective practical experience. Registered participants will have the opportunity to debate with speakers and coordinators.
Registered participants are invited to submit a paper on main issues in their respective jurisdiction on the topics of the seminar. The paper should be submitted to the Organizing Committee not later than March 31, 2008.
